Winch Operator

Winch Operator Rough Terrain (National certificate regulated by RTITB) consists of in-depth Winch training on all ground conditions with all types of equipment. By the end of the course delegates will be able to carryout complicated winch tasks with complete safety.
Maximum of three delegates per course for five days.
The course is aimed at delegates who have no knowledge of Winch equipment or techniques of Winching.

Course Content
 Legal Responsibilities, marking of equipment, in service inspection, types of winches rigging and safe use.
One to one, two to one, indirect pulls, compound and compound compensated pulls, winch rope terminations, slings chains, shackles, endless slings, ground anchors man made and natural, snatch blocks, calculations for estimate pulls, calculations for loads at angles.
This list is not complete, for the professional operator the list is endless.

The course is completed only when delegates can safely carry out all tasks and complete a practical and theory examination to a high standard.
